Date: February 26, 2015
Chair: David Anderson
Location: New York City
Speaker: John Riordan
Our speaker will be former Citibanker, John Riordan, author of the soon to be published book, They Are All My Family, which chronicles the evacuation of Vietnamese Citibankers and their families just before the fall of Saigon in 1975. John was featured in a 60 Minutes program about the evacuation and a segment of that program will be shown. Orders for his book will also be taken.
John will talk about the role he played, share insights into his activities to evacuate bank colleagues and explain what some of the evacuees are now doing. Also at the dinner will be Tom Crouse who was one of John's points of contact at Citibank New York and he will add comments from the head office perspective.
Early reviews of John's book include a telling quote, "A nail-biting account of one man's quiet heroism in the face of impossible odds." This will be a lively, informal and interesting evening so please mark your calendars for the date. Restaurant and reservation details will follow.
Happy New Year and best regards,
David Anderson
